Pedestrian Struck by car in Hellingly
A man was struck by a car in Hellingly at around 01.15 on the morning of the 30th of July 2014. He sustained serious head and chest injuries and was attended by Dr Alan Pearce of SIMCAS and members of South East Coast Ambulance Service. He was stabilised until the arrival of the Air Ambulance Helicopter which, after further medical treatment took him by air to St George’s Hospital in Tooting London.
With the provision of two pilots and clearance to operate at night the local Air Ambulance can now provide 24hr cover though there are limitations due to weather and availability of suitable landing sites.
